This work belongs to one of Matalon's most celebrated series, The Georgian House — a Tel Aviv mansion abandoned for decades by a wealthy family caught in an inheritance dispute. Matalon gained access to the sealed building, staged a careful interior intervention (hanging paintings, installing a chandelier), and photographed the transformed space in four images. The resulting series, exhibited in Israel and internationally, captures the tension between decay and elegance, between absence and presence — a house frozen in time, briefly and artificially brought back to life by the artist's hand.
